Dr Mary Kalandos

Chiropractor & COO · Wellbeing Chiropractic –

I’m Dr Mary Kalandos, chiropractor and Chief Operating Officer at Wellbeing Chiropractic. My clinical grounding is the RMIT chiropractic double degree with special interests in pregnancy, paediatric and women’s health care, and my current role turns that grounding into scale: making sure the standards I’d hold in my own consult room hold in every Wellbeing consult room in the country.

The problems an operation has to solve

Care that varies by postcode

The industry’s quiet failure is inconsistency: a great clinic here, a rushed one there. My job exists so a Wellbeing appointment means the same standard everywhere.

Families who need one trusted door

Pregnancy care, paediatric checks and women’s health shouldn’t need three different providers. Building clinics where families settle in is a design decision.

First visits that feel like queues

Nobody opens up to a practitioner watching the clock. Appointment design, unhurried assessments included, is an operations problem I take personally.

My clinical philosophy hasn’t changed since my consulting days: understand the underlying cause, build a personalised plan, and support the person through every step of it. As COO, the patient in front of me became every patient in every clinic, and the method scaled with the role. The systems, training and standards across Wellbeing Chiropractic exist to produce one outcome reliably: care that empowers people with knowledge and tools for long-term health, never a production line for temporary relief.

From the consult room to the whole company

I trained at RMIT through the chiropractic double degree and built my clinical craft around the patients I care most about: women navigating pregnancy, young children, and families wanting care that grows with them. Webster technique, paediatric and women’s health work remain my registered clinical interests.

Leadership found me through a simple observation: the things that make one clinic excellent, unhurried assessments, plain-language explanations, plans that respect real lives, are all reproducible if someone makes them the system. As Chief Operating Officer, that’s my patient list now. Every Wellbeing clinic, every practitioner, every first visit.

What I love hasn’t moved an inch. Watching people reach a level of health they didn’t believe was available to them is still the best part, I now get to watch it happen at company scale.

Standards you can feel from the waiting room

Everything I ask of Wellbeing clinics traces back to what good care felt like to deliver: proper time for the first assessment, explanations that respect intelligence, plans built around goals rather than templates, and referral out the moment a problem belongs elsewhere.

My clinical interests keep me anchored. Pregnancy, paediatric and women’s health care are demanding, trust-heavy disciplines, and they set the bar I hold the whole network to: if care isn’t gentle, clear and personal enough for those patients, it isn’t finished.

“The standard I’d hold in my own consult room is the one every Wellbeing clinic answers to.”

Questions patients ask

Everything that decides whether care is consistently good: practitioner standards, training, appointment design, clinic operations. I run those with a clinician’s bias, the systems serve the consult room, never the reverse.

It changes every decision. I’ve taken the histories, delivered the adjustments and had the hard referral conversations, so operational choices get made by someone who knows exactly what they feel like at the treatment table.

Because they’re the highest-trust work in the profession. Care gentle and careful enough for a pregnant patient or a child is care operating at its best, and that’s a useful standard to hold a whole company against.

Yes, all major health insurance funds are accepted across the network, processed on the spot at each clinic’s front desk with the gap as the usual remainder.

Through the locations page, where every clinic and its practitioner team are listed. Wherever you land, the standards are the ones described on this page, that’s rather the point of my job.
