From Olympic trials to Drummond Street
Swimming was my first education. I trained at a high level for most of my early life, raced at Olympic trials, collected state titles and did training blocks overseas. Living like that teaches you what it means to push a body hard, to hit setbacks, and to need practitioners who understand performance and recovery rather than pain alone.
Chiropractic was always close by. It runs in my family, and my uncle’s way of practising shaped the foundations of mine. I took the double degree at RMIT and I’ve kept studying since, through regular technique and theory seminars, because this profession keeps evolving and I intend to evolve with it.
The piece of this job I protect most is the conversation. I like knowing who my patients are beyond the sore bit, and I consider it a privilege every time someone lets me in past their symptoms. Too many people leave healthcare feeling like a number in a queue. Not here. Outside the clinic you’ll find me in the gym, riding around Fitzroy and Carlton, or down the coast surfing when the chance appears.
