CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER · WELLBEING CHIROPRACTIC

Dr Adam Curwood

Chief Executive Officer · Wellbeing Chiropractic

I’m Dr Adam Curwood, Chief Executive Officer and practice partner at Wellbeing Chiropractic. My own file opened at fifteen, on the patient side of the table, and thirteen years at the adjusting table followed, seven in Werribee and six in Hawthorn, before leadership called. The job description never really changed: enhance lives through chiropractic. These days I do that by building the teams, the training and the standards behind every visit at every Wellbeing clinic, and by mentoring the chiropractors who deliver them.

Patient at 15, practitioner for 13 years, now CEO

Dr Adam Curwood, chiropractor at Wellbeing Chiropractic

13 years in practice

Seven years at our Werribee clinic and six at Hawthorn before stepping into leadership.

5 years as Chief Operating Officer

Ran the operational engine of the network before taking on the CEO role.

Private Health Insurance Onsite

All major health insurance funds, processed at the desk of every clinic in the Wellbeing network.

What a CEO owes the adjusting table

Chiropractors worth developing

Great care starts with great practitioners. Adam’s focus is recruiting, mentoring and training chiropractors who treat the person, not the appointment slot.

Teams behind every visit

Reception, practitioners and support staff all shape how care feels. Building strong teams is how a network of clinics stays a neighbourhood practice at heart.

A profession that gives back

From student sport to spinal research fundraising, Adam backs projects that leave chiropractic, and the communities it serves, better than he found them.

Adam’s own file started on the other side of the reception desk. At 15 he was struggling with severe headaches and lower back pain that were interfering with school and with soccer, which he played at national level for Victoria. Chiropractic care kept him on the park and functioning at his best, and it convinced him of the value of the profession he now leads. Every decision he makes as CEO answers to that teenager on the table.

From patient to practitioner to CEO

Adam completed his chiropractic studies at RMIT and went on to a clinical career with Wellbeing Chiropractic that ran more than a decade: seven years in Werribee, then six in Hawthorn. That grounding in day-to-day patient care still shapes how he thinks about team development and business growth.

After five years as Chief Operating Officer he stepped up to Chief Executive Officer, leading the vision and direction of the network. He remains a member of the Australian Chiropractors Association and stays hands-on with the profession through seminars and professional development events he helps organise.

He is also the founder of the Health Care Cup, a fundraising event that brings chiropractic, osteopathy and physiotherapy students together through Australian rules football in support of the Australian Spinal Research Foundation, and he hosts The Wellbeing Mentoring Room, a podcast built to mentor chiropractors through their professional growth. Outside of work he runs marathons and half marathons, trains at the gym, surfs and plays social water polo. He and his wife Michelle are Melbourne people through and through, footy included.

Leading the way he practised

In practice, Adam was known for care built on listening first and explaining clearly, and that is now the standard he sets across the network. His leadership focus areas are simple to name and hard to shortcut: develop great chiropractors, empower strong teams, and build a business that creates lasting impact in the communities it serves.

Growth, learning and excellence sit at the centre of how Wellbeing trains its practitioners, from graduate mentoring through to the continuing education AHPRA requires of every registered chiropractor.

“A clinic network stays healthy the same way a spine does: consistent habits, sensible load management and someone paying attention to the whole system.”

Questions patients ask

No. Adam stepped away from clinical practice when he moved into executive leadership. If you were a patient of his in Werribee or Hawthorn, the team at either clinic can match you with the right chiropractor to continue your care.

Adam leads the vision and direction of Wellbeing Chiropractic: recruiting and developing practitioners, supporting clinic teams, setting care standards, and making sure a growing network keeps the feel of a local practice.

A fundraising event Adam founded that brings students from chiropractic, osteopathy and physiotherapy together through Australian rules football, raising money for the Australian Spinal Research Foundation.

He hosts The Wellbeing Mentoring Room, a podcast created to mentor and support chiropractors in their professional growth. It is aimed at practitioners but patients curious about the profession are welcome eavesdroppers.

Every clinic takes online bookings. Head to the book online page, choose your nearest Wellbeing location, and you can see practitioner options, times and availability in real time.
