Dr Benjamin Guerin

Chiropractor · Wellbeing Chiropractic Footscray

I’m Dr Benjamin Guerin, an AHPRA registered chiropractor at our Footscray clinic on Droop Street, and most people call me Ben. I came to chiropractic through a Bachelor of Science, then a Bachelor and a Master of Health Science in Chiropractic, and more than a decade on I still approach every patient the way I would want to be treated: as a whole person, not a single complaint. I work with Diversified and Sacro Occipital Technique, with particular interests in paediatrics, sports and nutrition.

What Footscray brings through the door

The problem, & the bigger picture behind it

A sore back or a stiff neck is usually what gets someone through the door. Ben treats what is in front of him, then looks at the sleep, work, movement and eating that sit behind it, because the body rarely has one isolated problem.

Sport, from weekend to serious

Runners, lifters and team players across the inner west who want to keep training. Care here looks at how the whole frame handles load, not only the part that is complaining.

Babies, kids & the parents who bring them

Paediatric care is one of Ben’s particular interests, shaped by watching his own three children grow. Gentle, age-appropriate techniques, and plenty of time for parents’ questions.

Ben’s consults are unhurried and collaborative. He asks about the problem that brought you in, then about the rest of your life, and he talks through his findings in everyday language, because in his experience many people have never had their findings explained to them. Plans are built together around your health goals, with practical insights you can use at work, at home and at play, and where another practitioner should be involved he says so early.

Science first, then chiropractic, then three kids

Ben’s path into chiropractic started with a Bachelor of Science in 2009, followed by a Bachelor of Health Science in Chiropractic in 2012 and a Master of Health Science in Chiropractic in 2014. More than a decade of practice later, the principle has not changed: treat each patient the way he would want to be treated, from a whole-body perspective.

Away from the clinic he is a father of three. Watching his partner bring each of them into the world left him with a lasting respect for what the body can do when it is given the right environment and conditions, and that respect shapes how he works with patients of every age.

He practises at Wellbeing Chiropractic Footscray, 31 Droop Street, in the heart of Melbourne’s inner west.

Collaborative care from a whole-body perspective

Expect the first visit to cover more than the sore spot: history, examination, and a conversation about the parts of your work, social and family life you want more of. Ben then sets out an individualised plan and talks you through the reasoning.

Adjusting draws on Diversified and Sacro Occipital Technique, matched to the person rather than applied by default, and advice on movement and nutrition is woven in so progress continues between visits. The aim is care that improves life outside the clinic, not only inside it.

“I approach each patient the way I would want to be treated: as a whole person, working together on care that helps them thrive in their work, social and family life.”

Questions patients ask

Ben treats the problem you came in with, then looks at the sleep, work, movement and eating patterns that sit behind it, so the plan addresses causes as well as symptoms.

SOT is a gentle chiropractic system that uses positioning, padded pelvic blocks and light contacts rather than forceful adjusting. Ben uses it alongside Diversified adjusting where it suits the person.

Yes. Paediatric care is one of Ben’s particular interests. Techniques are adapted to the child’s age and size, and parents are part of every conversation.

Rarely. Ben’s aim is to keep you training by looking at how your whole frame handles load and shaping the plan around your sport rather than removing it.
