CERTIFIED PRACTISING SPEECH PATHOLOGIST · BRIGHT ACES SPEECH PATHOLOGY

Bright Aces Speech Pathology

Ayse Sayan·Speech Pathologist

I’m Ayse Sayan, the speech pathologist behind Bright Aces Speech Pathology, consulting from Wellbeing Chiropractic Mickleham on weekdays and by telehealth. I hold a Bachelor of Applied Science and a Master of Speech Pathology, and over seven years I have led a school speech pathology department and supervised clinicians in private practice. Children and adolescents are my whole caseload: speech sounds, language, early communication, social communication, stuttering and literacy, with parents coached along the way.

Who comes to Bright Aces

Speech sounds & early words

Toddlers who are late to talk and children whose speech is hard to understand, with pronunciation and articulation worked on through play.

Language, literacy & learning

Vocabulary, sentences and comprehension, plus phonological awareness, early reading and spelling.

Social communication & stuttering

Conversation skills and social interaction, fluency support, and neurodiversity-affirming therapy for autistic children.

Every plan is individual and every family is part of it. Parent coaching and home programs give you practical activities between sessions, and therapy is paced so children look forward to coming back. NDIS, Medicare care plan and private health clients are all welcome.

A career found by chance, kept by choice

I found speech pathology by complete chance while looking through university courses, and I was drawn in straight away by the idea of helping people find their voice. Seven years on, that pull has not faded.

I have worked across both school and private practice settings, including a period as head of a school speech pathology department before committing full time to private practice, where I gained experience as a clinical supervisor and team leader. Those roles shaped how I run Bright Aces: therapy that is fun, engaging and personalised, with families supported as closely as the child.

Outside the clinic I love sunshine, walks, boxing at the gym and time with my cat, and I am a self-confessed beverage enthusiast, coffee and matcha included.

No pressure in the first session

The first appointment is about getting to know each other. We take things at your child’s pace, build trust and work out together how best to support them. There are no expectations to meet on day one.

From there, therapy is play-based and individualised. Sessions are built around what motivates your child, and you leave with strategies and home activities so progress continues between visits. Where telehealth suits the family better, sessions run online in the same way.

“Supporting families matters as much as supporting the child. I want everyone to feel welcome, comfortable and valued.”
