The patient who became the practitioner
Before I was the chiropractor, I was the patient with serious health issues, including the disc and nerve injuries I now treat. I remember what it’s like to feel helpless and out of options, and I remember exactly which practitioners made it better and what they did differently. They listened. They explained. They gave me a role in my own recovery.
That’s the model I trained toward, through my bachelor degrees in chiropractic and health science, and it’s the model I practise at Boronia and Cranbourne as an ACA member. My role isn’t only treatment: it’s education, and building people a base sturdy enough to reach their goals from.
Why do I love the work? The plain fact that I get to influence lives for the better, in the exact place where somebody once did that for me.
