Dr Jake Cremona

Chiropractor · Wellbeing Chiropractic Austral

I’m Dr Jake Cremona, practice partner at Wellbeing Chiropractic and chiropractor at our Austral clinic, and I studied movement before I studied spines: an exercise science degree at the Australian College of Physical Education, then the Master of Chiropractic at Macquarie. The order shapes everything, exercise science taught me how bodies build capacity, chiropractic taught me how to find and treat what blocks it. At Austral I practise Diversified and Gonstead adjusting with a sports thread through the caseload, as an ACA member. Find the underlying cause, explain it so it makes sense, then build a plan that keeps you moving, that is the whole recipe.

Austral’s growing pains

Paddocks becoming postcodes

Austral is one of Sydney’s fastest-building corners, and its residents are fencing, furnishing and landscaping their way in. Backs get the itemised bill.

Training age versus body age

Southwest Sydney plays everything, league, football, oztag, gym, and enthusiasm usually outruns preparation. That gap is where injuries live.

The cause nobody’s named yet

Recurring pain that’s been treated five times has usually been explained zero times. Finding the underlying driver changes the whole conversation.

My exercise science years taught me to read bodies as systems under load, and that’s how your problem gets assessed here: not where it hurts, but why it keeps hurting. You’ll get the underlying cause explained in a way that makes sense, a personalised plan that respects your training and your week, and straight, evidence-informed care pointed at lasting results rather than temporary relief. Presentations that need a GP first hear exactly that, first.

Movement first, spine second, patient always

My path ran through a Bachelor of Science in exercise at the Australian College of Physical Education before the Master of Chiropractic at Macquarie University, and the two halves work as one. Exercise science taught me how bodies build capacity. Chiropractic taught me how to find and treat what’s blocking it.

At Austral I practise Diversified and Gonstead adjusting with a sports thread running through the caseload, as an ACA member. I’m passionate about helping people understand how their spine and nervous system fit into the bigger picture of their health, because patients who understand their own mechanics train smarter, recover faster and stay out of trouble longer.

The wins that stick with me are the reclaimed ones: confidence back, sport back, the things you enjoy back on the calendar. That’s the standard care gets measured against here.

Cause found, plan built, progress owned

First visits are unhurried and methodical: your story, your loads and training history, then a top-to-bottom physical examination. I take the time to listen and to educate, because the explanation is half the treatment, and you’ll leave knowing the underlying cause rather than a vague label.

Care combines specific adjusting with exercise prescription that an exercise scientist actually enjoyed writing, staged to your capacity and goals. Reviews are built in, results get compared against the plan openly, and lasting change stays the target over quick fixes.

“I studied movement before I studied spines. Your care gets the benefit of both.”

Questions patients ask

The questions I ask and the homework you get. Your problem gets assessed as a loading issue, not only a sore spot, and your program gets written by someone trained in how capacity is actually built.

With an assessment of the injury and the training that surrounded it. Then a staged return that keeps you moving while the problem resolves, benched entirely is rarely the answer.

Gonstead is the analysis-heavy end of my adjusting, more assessment per segment before anything moves. Diversified is the classic manual approach. The examination, and your comfort, decide the mix.

Yes, all major health insurance funds clear at the desk on the day, and if chiropractic sits inside your extras, your cost stops at the gap.

Relief matters and it arrives first, but the plan is always pointed at lasting results: cause addressed, capacity rebuilt, habits adjusted. Temporary fixes are how problems buy return tickets.
