Dr Kinshuk Thakur

Chiropractor · Wellbeing Chiropractic Schofields

I’m Dr Kinshuk Thakur, practice partner at Wellbeing Chiropractic and an AHPRA registered chiropractor at our Schofields clinic, consulting in English, Hindi or Gujarati. Before chiropractic I worked in prosthetics and orthotics, a rare way into this profession and a useful one: I look at the whole structure, not the sore corner of it, a habit my Macquarie Masters of Chiropractic sharpened rather than replaced. The technique list has grown deliberately wide since, Diversified, Activator, SOT, Thompson, Gonstead and Atlas Orthogonal, and 2026 brought NSW’s Chiropractor of the Year award. Every new patient still gets the same start: full history, examination, explanation without jargon.

The Schofields caseload, plainly described

Pain that’s become part of the furniture

Chronic pain rearranges lives quietly. Sleep shortens, work gets harder, patience with the kids runs out earlier. It deserves a fresh assessment, not another year of tolerance.

The child who sits like a question mark

Growing spines and heavy school bags are a combination worth watching. I assess children’s posture and development carefully, and I explain everything to parents as we go.

Headaches with a job attached

The pattern that builds through the working week and lets up on Sunday is telling you where to look. Necks under sustained load are frequent culprits, and they can be examined.

Schofields ranks among the fastest-growing corners of Sydney, and the caseload reflects it: young families, new houses full of lifting jobs, long commutes and the chronic problems people carried here from their last suburb. Whatever the presentation, care starts with listening and a structured examination, because my prosthetics and orthotics years taught me that pain in one place is usually a story about load somewhere else. You’ll understand each step before we take it.

Structure first: from limbs & braces to spines

My first profession was prosthetics and orthotics, fitting devices that replace or support the body’s structure. You learn something in that work that never leaves you: the body is a connected system, and what happens at the foot changes the knee, the hip, the spine. Chiropractic became the natural next step, and I completed my Masters of Chiropractic at Macquarie University.

Since then the technique list has grown deliberately wide: Diversified, Activator, SOT, Thompson drop-piece, Gonstead, and certification in Atlas Orthogonal, plus Rockblade and Rocktape for soft-tissue work. In 2026 I took home Chiropractor of the Year for NSW, and Three Best Rated listed me among the top three chiropractors on the Central Coast for patient care. Awards are nice. The reviews behind them, where patients say they at last understood their own spine, are nicer.

My focus is family care in the broadest sense, from children’s postural development through to adults with long-standing pain. Animal chiropractic Necks under sustained load are frequent culprits, and they can be examined. is part of my training too, so some days the family definition stretches to include the dog. I consult in Hindi and Gujarati as well as English, and I belong to Chiropractic Australia.

Listen, examine, explain, then adjust

That order matters. Your history tells me where to look, the examination confirms or corrects the theory, and my explanation earns your confidence before any care happens. Because the technique kit is wide, treatment can be matched to you precisely: a footy-playing dad, a pregnant mum and a seven-year-old all need different care although the sore spot matches.

What motivates the plan is bigger than the symptom. Discomfort that shortens your sleep, headaches that shadow your work, pain that pulls you away from your kids, those are the real problems, and the plan is judged by whether you get those parts of life back.

“Pain shouldn’t decide how present you get to be in your own life.”

How I work in the treatment room

Atlas Orthogonal

Certified, instrument-assisted care for the top of the neck, measured in millimetres rather than force.

Diversified & Gonstead

Specific hands-on adjusting, chosen segment by segment from careful analysis.

Thompson drop-piece

Adjusting with the table doing part of the work, meaning less force reaches the joint.

Activator & SOT

Rockblade & Rocktape

Certified soft-tissue tools for the muscle and fascia side of a problem, alongside the joint work.

Questions patients ask

Any age, with care matched to the stage. Children’s assessments are gentle, parents remain in the room, and everything is explained before it happens. Postural development is a personal focus of mine, and monitoring is sometimes the whole plan.

Both, whichever feels natural. A history taken in your first language is nearly always a better history, and the explanation lands properly too.

It focuses on the very top vertebra using a precise instrument rather than manual force, guided by careful measurement. For some neck and headache presentations it’s a genuinely gentle option, and I’m certified in it.

Yes. All major health insurance funds are claimable at the front desk, leaving only the gap wherever chiropractic is in your cover.

No referral required, book directly. If your presentation calls for a GP’s involvement or imaging first, that becomes step one of the plan and I’ll help organise it.
