From footwear technology to a doctorate in pedorthics
My interest in engineering, mechanics and problem-solving began in Bangladesh, where I completed a Bachelor of Science in Footwear Technology. In 2009 I moved to Australia to train in pedorthics at the Australian School of Pedorthics and Pro-Learn Pedorthics School, becoming a Certified Pedorthist Australia in 2011 and a Certified Pedorthist Custom Maker in 2015.
In late 2023 I completed a PhD at Southern Cross University, which I understand makes me Australia’s first doctoral-qualified pedorthist. The research looked at diabetic foot care, specifically footwear and insole interventions for people at high risk of plantar forefoot ulceration, and it feeds directly into how I assess and prescribe today.
Foot Balance Technology has clinics at Castle Hill and Westmead, and I consult from Wellbeing Chiropractic Campbelltown on Thursdays.
