Chiropractor · Wellbeing Chiropractic Point Cook

I’m Dr Martin Sexton, chiropractor at our Point Cook clinic. RMIT’s chiropractic double degree trained me, the ACA keeps me current, and recognition has followed the work: Wellbeing’s Growth award in 2023, its Excellence award in 2024, and Bupa preferred provider status at the clinic. Headaches, migraines and sciatica are the caseload I have deliberately built, three conditions where thorough assessment pays its way, and my technique range runs from Diversified adjusting through Activator and SOT block work to spinal decompression. Collaboration is the method: you bring the goal, marathon, recovery or keeping up with the kids, and we build toward it together.

3 conditions I chase hardest

Headaches, migraines and sciatica, each assessed properly before anything else.

Private Health Insurance Onsite

All major health insurance funds, settled at the Point Cook desk.

Point Cook’s three regulars

Migraines holding your diary hostage

When you’re planning weeks around possible attacks, the migraine is managing you. Careful assessment of triggers and neck involvement starts reversing the arrangement.

Sciatica on the school run

That electric line down the leg doesn’t care that you have three drop-offs and a job. Finding its actual source is the first useful move.

Marathon plans, hamstring vetoes

Point Cook trains for fun runs, halves and fulls in growing numbers. Bodies in training blocks need problems found early, while they’re still small.

Headaches, migraines and sciatica share a frustrating trait: they’re symptoms with several possible sources, and treatment that skips the sorting step tends to miss. So the sorting step is sacred here. A detailed history, a structured examination, a clear explanation of what’s driving your version, and a collaborative plan pointed at the outcome you named. Anything with red flags or a medical shape to it goes to the right practitioner at once.

Results-driven, win-celebrating

I trained through RMIT’s chiropractic double degree and practise at Point Cook as an ACA member, with recognition I’m proud of along the way: Wellbeing’s Growth award in 2023, its Excellence award in 2024, and Bupa preferred provider status at the clinic.

My technique range runs from Diversified adjusting through Activator and SOT block work to spinal decompression, which lets care scale from firmly hands-on to very gentle without changing clinics. Headaches, migraines and sciatica are the caseload I’ve deliberately built, three conditions where thorough assessment changes everything.

The privilege of this work is its range: all ages, all backgrounds, all lifestyles, each with an outcome they’ve decided matters. I collaborate rather than dictate, I measure rather than assume, and when your win lands, we celebrate it properly. That part is non-negotiable.

Collaborate, then celebrate

First visits dig in properly: your history, your triggers and patterns if headaches or migraines are the issue, your leg symptoms mapped carefully if sciatica is. The examination is structured, the explanation is jargon-free, and the plan is a two-name document, yours and mine.

Treatment draws from four techniques scaled to your comfort, with home strategies matched to your actual week. We define what winning looks like early, track toward it at every review, and when you get there, it gets acknowledged out loud. Results are the point of the whole exercise.

“Wins get celebrated out loud in this room. Getting you to one is the job description.”

How I work in the treatment room

Diversified adjusting

Specific manual work for the findings that want a hands-on answer.

Activator Method

Instrument-delivered care for sensitive presentations and lighter-touch preferences.

Sacro Occipital Technique

Positioned block work that changes loads gradually, gently and precisely.

Spinal decompression

Controlled traction used where the assessment indicates it, frequently in sciatic presentations.

Questions patients ask

Yes, they’re one of my three core interests. Assessment covers triggers, patterns and neck involvement, care is gentle and structured, and anything suggesting a medical cause is referred immediately, migraines deserve both caution and attention.

If you’re with Bupa, it generally means better value on your extras claims at Point Cook. Every other major fund still processes on the spot, so nobody’s card gets turned away.

Often, once its source is found, and finding it is the step most sciatica has skipped. Assessment establishes whether yours fits chiropractic care, decompression or another approach entirely, and you’ll get that answer without spin.

Internal recognition across the company’s clinics, Growth in 2023 and Excellence in 2024 landed here. I take them as proof the collaborative, results-first method holds up under scrutiny.

Then we plan like it’s ambitious: assessment first, load-aware care through your training block, and problems caught while they’re cheap to fix. Ambitious goals are my favourite kind to collaborate on.
