Dr Matthew La Selva

Principal Chiropractor & Area Leader · Wellbeing Chiropractic Craigieburn

I’m Dr Matthew La Selva, principal chiropractor at Craigieburn and area leader for the surrounding Wellbeing clinics. My reputation is built on confident, hands-on manual adjusting, and my deepest clinical interests are the two problems that humble most quick fixes: disc injuries and headaches. Leadership title aside, you’ll find me where I’ve always been, at the adjusting table.

Craigieburn

Principal & area leader

Leads the Craigieburn clinic and supports the standard across nearby Wellbeing clinics.

2 problems I chase hardest

Disc injuries and headaches, the presentations that reward properly structured care.

Private Health Insurance Onsite

All major health insurance funds, wrapped up at the Craigieburn desk.

What lands on a principal’s table

The disc that derailed the year

Disc injuries frighten people, often more than they need to. Careful assessment, staged care and straight answers put shape back around a scary diagnosis.

Headaches wearing a groove

When the painkillers live on the desk and the pattern owns your week, the headache has stopped being incidental. Finding its driver is proper clinical work.

Craigieburn’s builder’s dozen

Trades, transport and young-family logistics keep this corridor’s spines under daily load. They deserve care as hands-on as their work is.

People tend to arrive here after the quick options have had their turn. What they get is old-fashioned in the best way: time to be heard, a thorough examination, and confident manual treatment delivered by hands that do this all day, every day. Disc presentations get particular care and staging, headaches get their drivers hunted properly, and anything that needs imaging or a GP first is called before treatment starts, not after it stalls.

Leader by title, adjuster by trade

RMIT gave me the chiropractic double degree, and everything since has pointed one direction: manual adjusting done confidently and well. Diversified technique is my craft, with Activator work for the spines that need a softer instrument, and the patients who benefit most are often the ones carrying disc injuries or long-running headaches.

As principal chiropractor at Craigieburn and area leader for the clinics around it, my job description grew, but the centre of it never moved. The best thing I can do for this area’s standard of care is keep delivering it personally, table by table, and share what works with the practitioners I support.

What I love is plain: watching someone move from guarding their body to trusting it again, back to sport, back to work, back to being picked up by their kids without a wince. That progression never gets less satisfying.

Heard, examined, adjusted with confidence

First visits give your problem the time it has earned: your story in full, a structured physical and movement work-up, and an explanation that tells you what’s happening and what we’re doing about it. Disc presentations get staged plans with clear expectations at each phase.

Treatment is predominantly hands-on Diversified adjusting, delivered with the confidence that comes from making it your life’s work, and Activator input where gentler suits. Progress is judged against what you want back, and plans end when they’ve done their job.

“Titles run clinics. Hands treat patients. I’ve kept mine on the table.”

Questions patients ask

Often, with the right assessment first. Disc presentations vary enormously, some suit staged chiropractic care, some need imaging or specialist input before anything else, and you’ll get a clear, calm read on which yours is.

It means the person responsible for care standards across this patch of clinics is also the one adjusting you. Nothing gets asked of the team that I don’t deliver myself daily at Craigieburn.

Because recurrence normally means the driver went unfound, only the symptom was treated. A proper hunt through your neck, patterns and load often changes the conversation entirely.

Yes, all major health insurance funds wrap up on the spot, and where your cover holds chiropractic, the gap is the whole of it.

No, and a confident manual adjuster should say so plainly. The examination, plus your comfort, decides the mix, and the Activator covers the presentations where lighter input wins.
