One of the ways we try to do this is by providing hassle-free insurance claims, to ease the financial burden of the treatment.
We are registered with Nib Health, one of the leading private health insurance providers in Australia. Depending upon the terms of your policy, chiropractor visits could be included in your Nib Health Insurance cover. We also offer the convenience of HICAPS, for super easy, spot-claim settlement. This will eliminate the need for you to file a claim and wait for settlement, as this will be done instantly via an electronic private health claiming portal at our location itself! Moreover, you would only need to pay the gap-fee, instead of the full-consulting fees.
However, it is good to know the finer details of your policy before you decide to use your private health fund. This would be detailed in the policy booklet, but you could always speak to your health fund advisor to know more. While at it, you could check about the waiting period, limits and total cover amount before you plan your treatment, to avoid financial stress later on.
Private insurance policies do not offer chiropractic treatment and therapies under hospital cover, instead this is covered under “Extras”. It is a good idea to check for the amount you could claim for chiropractic appointments – typically different appointment types will return a different rebate amount i.e. new patients appointments versus standard consultations verses extended consultations. Some policies offer a consolidated cover for allied health services including physiotherapy, chiropractic, osteopathy and massage, among others. If this is the case, then claiming for any of these services could consequently reduce the claim entitlement for other grouped services. Either way, you could speak to your health fund advisor to guide on the best course of action.
If you are planning to use treatment from our chiropractors, please make sure that your Nib Health Insurance policy covers the same. You could also compare different plans on their website, to select a cover that is most suitable for you. Read the policy terms carefully, as some policies might require prior approval before you can claim, and yet some others might only offer limited cover on what is deemed as medically significant. There is always an option to request a waiving off of the waiting period that you could explore.
While our fees are largely affordable, we do not want the cost of treatment to dissuade from our patients taking timely treatment.
