This depends on how acute the injury is or the reason for getting a massage. For a recent injury it may be most practical to receive multiple massages within the space of a week to allow for inflammation to go down and promote healing. If therapeutic massage is intertwined with relaxing massage then multiple day in a row may be applicable. Speak to a massage therapist and see what they say, each patient should be treated on a case-by-case basis.

The same applies for meals as a full stomach may not sit well with the process of deep tissue massage. It is also helpful to have a shower beforehand to relax the muscles and promote blood flow and allow for the most effective treatment. Lastly and most importantly, arrive in comfortable and loose clothing so as to give access to multiple regions of the body and also be easily removed if draping is required.
