Dr Rajan Sandhu

Chiropractor · Wellbeing Chiropractic Tarneit & Truganina

I’m Dr Rajan Sandhu, an AHPRA registered chiropractor at our Tarneit and Truganina clinics, consulting in English or Punjabi. I know your side of this chair: a long stretch of debilitating back pain and the painkillers that came with it are what led me into the profession, through training at the AECC in the United Kingdom and years at Europe’s largest chiropractic clinic, where the caseload sharpens you fast. Diversified care, sports rehabilitation and injury management became my staples there and remain them here. Your first visit starts with the full story and a thorough examination, and you will walk out knowing what I found and the plan for it.

What I help with across Tarneit & Truganina

Migraines that run the calendar

Plans get made around them, then cancelled by them. Migraine and headache patterns deserve a careful look at what the neck is contributing, because that piece is treatable when it’s present.

The posture the job built

New estates, long commutes, screen-heavy work. Around here the spine spends most of its week in one shape, and eventually it starts charging rent.

The injury that outlasted the season

Cricket, football, running, the gym. When a sporting injury stops responding to rest, it needs assessing rather than more rest.

My own back taught me the difference between managing pain and understanding it. For months I took the painkillers and worked around the problem, and nothing changed until someone examined why it was happening. That’s the standard here. A detailed history, a proper examination, and a straight explanation of the cause before we discuss care. If what I see needs a GP, imaging or another practitioner first, you’ll know at that first visit.

From the UK to Melbourne’s west

I was born and raised in the United Kingdom, and I trained at the AECC, a college with one of the longest histories in the profession, learning under some seriously good clinicians. Before moving to Australia I practised at Europe’s largest chiropractic clinic, where the caseload covered diversified care, sports rehabilitation and injury management at a volume that sharpens you fast.

What pulled me into chiropractic in the first place was my own back. I spent a long stretch in real pain, leaning on painkillers and losing ground, and the recovery that followed proper care changed the direction of my life. I don’t forget that when someone new sits down in my room.

These days I work across our Tarneit and Truganina clinics, with a caseload of migraines, neck and back pain, sporting injuries and posture-related problems. I consult in English and Punjabi. Away from work I keep myself moving with running, cricket and football, because asking patients to move more only works if I do it too.

Find the cause, then earn the recovery

First visits are thorough on purpose. I listen first, because the story usually points at the cause before the examination confirms it, then I assess your spine, your movement and the loads your week puts through both. You’ll get my findings in plain language plus a care plan matched to your goals rather than a stock script.

Treatment draws on diversified adjusting and sports-focused care, and the plan always includes the part you own: the habits, movement and pacing between visits that decide whether results hold. Patients tell me I explain things clearly and check in often. That’s deliberate. Confidence in the plan is half the plan.

“I’ve been the patient with the sore back and the packet of painkillers. It’s why I do this job.”

Questions patients ask

Migraines and headaches are one of my main caseloads. The examination works out whether your neck is contributing to the pattern, and where it is, care aims at that driver. Where it isn’t, I’ll say it straight and point you to the right practitioner.

Yes, from start to finish. Plenty of families around Tarneit and Truganina prefer it, and explaining an assessment in the language you’re most at home in makes the whole plan easier to follow.

Yes, each clinic claims all major health insurance funds right then and there, and your only payment is the gap where your extras take in chiropractic.

You can. Chiropractors are first-contact practitioners in Australia, so book whenever suits. Bring existing along any imaging you’ve had done, they save time at the assessment.

History first, then a full physical and movement examination, then my explanation of what’s driving the problem. Where care is appropriate on the day, treatment usually starts at that same visit.
