Dr Kaylan Morris

Associate Chiropractor · Wellbeing Chiropractic Mernda & Sydenham

I’m Dr Kaylan Morris, associate chiropractor across our Mernda and Sydenham clinics, two suburbs on opposite sides of the city with identical spines. I completed the chiropractic double degree at RMIT and built a deliberately two-speed technique range, Diversified adjusting where hands-on work suits, low-force options like Activator where gentler input wins, because nobody should get talked into more force than they want or need. My starting belief is that everyone deserves to function at their very best, competitive sport, social sport or a week that does not hurt. Your goals get understood first, your symptoms get explained properly, and your plan gets fitted to your actual lifestyle.

Gentle, low-force options always

Function is the whole conversation

Competitive or social, still sore

Whether you chase premierships or Thursday-night mixed netball, the niggles feel identical. Both grades deserve assessment instead of ice and hope.

Quality of life, the quiet goal

Some patients want a comp season. Others want stairs, sleep and gardening back. Improving daily function is as legitimate a target as any podium.

Sydenham to the city & back

Western commutes bookend desk days with train seats, and the whole sitting stack lands on the same lower back. It adds up quietly, then loudly.

Every plan here starts with the same question, what does functioning at your best actually look like for you?, and the answer decides everything downstream. A careful history and examination establish what’s contributing to your symptoms, you get that explained in words that stick, and the treatment plan gets built around your lifestyle rather than asking your lifestyle to move out. Where a GP, a scan or someone else’s specialty should come first, that’s said plainly at the outset.

Evidence-based, gently delivered

I completed the chiropractic double degree at RMIT and practise as an associate chiropractor across Mernda and Sydenham, two suburbs on opposite sides of the city with identical spines. My clinical approach is evidence-based and patient-centred, and my technique range is deliberately two-speed: Diversified adjusting where hands-on work suits, low-force options like Activator where gentler input is the better fit.

That second speed matters more than people expect. Some patients are nervous, some presentations are sensitive, some bodies respond better to less. Having genuinely gentle tools means nobody gets talked into more force than they want or need.

What I enjoy most is the range of the work: competitive athletes, social players and people whose only goal is a better-functioning week all get the same process, goals understood, symptoms explained, plan individualised. Function at your best, whatever your best is for.

Your goals set the bar

First visits centre on understanding: your goals, your history, your daily and sporting loads, then a methodical physical examination. Explanations come in plain language, what’s contributing to your symptoms and what we can do about it, because a patient who understands the plan runs it better.

Treatment picks from both speeds, Diversified or low-force, to match your presentation and preference, and the plan is built to fit your lifestyle: your schedule, your equipment, your commitments. Progress gets reviewed against the goals we opened with, and the plan adapts as your function climbs.

“Your best function looks different to everyone else’s. That’s exactly why the plan is individualised.”

Questions patients ask

No, it’s a different tool rather than a lesser one. The examination and your presentation decide which approach fits, and plenty of problems respond well to gentle input, especially in spines that guard against heavier work.

Completely. Functioning at your best might mean pain-free stairs, easier sleep or lifting grandchildren, and those goals get the same assessment, explanation and individualised plan the athletes get.

From three ingredients: your goals, the examination findings, and the lifestyle the plan has to survive in. That’s why no two plans here match, the inputs never do.

Yes, every major fund claims at either clinic, and where chiropractic features in your policy you’re only ever out the gap.

Easily, your file and plan travel with you. North side some weeks, west side others, whatever your calendar prefers.
