Massage Cranbourne Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

FAQs

  • Is it bad to shower before a massage? It is not recommended to take a hot shower directly before a massage as this increases circulation and therefore increases the chance of sweating during the massage. For hygiene and etiquette purposes however, it is encouraged that you shower with warm water a few hours before your massage.
  • What should you wear for a massage? Dress as you normally would on a daily basis. When you are in the massage room you will be asked to dress down to your comfort levels and the massage therapist will work around any clothing you leave on as well as using appropriate draping to cover the remaining areas not being treated. You should remove any jewellery you have on to ensure your safety.
  • How do I get the most out of my massage? To get the most out of your massage drink plenty of water before and after, arrive 5-10 minutes early to ensure paperwork is completed and you have enough time to sit and relax, try to remain relaxed during the massage, try not to do any taxing tasks after your massage – a light walk is recommended. However, duties at home, work, gym and sport should be kept to a minimum.
  • Are you supposed to tip a massage therapist at a chiropractor? You are in no way expected to tip a massage therapist at a Chiropractor. However, if you are happy with your service and wish to tip the massage therapist you are more than welcome to do so.
  • What can I expect from a full body massage?
Expect to have your legs, glutes, feet, arms, hands, neck and back massaged. Depending on the type of massage whether it is relaxation or deep tissue will vary the pressure and techniques used. If you are uncomfortable with any of these areas being touched please let the massage therapist know beforehand.
  • How should I prepare for a massage?Prepare yourself by ensuring you are hydrated, arrive 5-10 minutes early to your appointment to allow for paperwork if required and to relax before your appointment time. It is not recommended that you eat directly before a massage.
