How Often Should You See a Chiropractor?

Play Video about HOW OFTEN SHOULD I SEE A CHIROPRACTOR?

One of the most common questions we get asked at Wellbeing Chiropractic is: “How often should I come in?” And the truth is, it depends on what stage of care you’re in, your health goals, and what kind of lifestyle you want to maintain.

Let’s break it down.

.

Initial Symptom or Condition Care (2–3 times per week)

When someone first visits a chiropractor, it’s often because they’re dealing with a specific symptom …. like neck pain, lower back pain, headaches, or sciatica. In these early stages, the aim is to reduce inflammation, improve movement, and begin to retrain the spine and nervous system.

Most people at this stage will benefit from 2 to 3 visits per week. This level of frequency helps build momentum and allows your body to start making consistent, measurable changes.

Stabilisation Phase (1 x per week)

Once symptoms start to ease, many people transition into a stabilisation phase. Here, the goal is to support the changes that have been made, improve strength and function, and prevent flare-ups.

At this point, visits are commonly reduced to once a week. This phase is crucial — even though pain may be gone, the underlying function is still stabilising.

Wellness or Maintenance Care (weekly, fortnightly or monthly)

Long-term, many people choose to continue chiropractic care as part of their ongoing health and wellness routine.

This might mean coming in once a week, every two weeks, or even monthly, depending on their work demands, physical stress, lifestyle, or health goals.

Why do people keep coming even when they’re not in pain?

Because chiropractic helps support:

  • Better posture and alignment
  • Stress and tension management
  • Improved movement and flexibility
  • Overall energy and wellbeing

Just like going to the gym or eating well, it’s part of a proactive approach to staying healthy  rather than waiting for problems to appear.

So… how often should you see a chiropractor?

At Wellbeing Chiropractic, we tailor care to you, not a one-size-fits-all model. After a thorough initial assessment, your chiropractor will recommend a plan that suits your body, your goals, and your lifestyle.

Whether you’re in pain, looking to prevent it, or want to make chiropractic part of your routine we’re here to help you get the most out of your spine, your nervous system, and your life.
