Thirty years of adding tools
Since graduating from RMIT, Colin’s journey as a chiropractor has been one of constant addition. The fundamentals held: skilled manipulation, diagnosis by touch, quick and accurate assessment. Around them he has built a wider kit as the evidence and technology moved.
Kinesiology-style muscle testing became a long-standing diagnostic tool, useful for assessing the spine and the more peripheral joints. Dry needling earned its place by settling muscle spasm and pain rapidly and helping with old scar tissue. Rehabilitation and joint stabilisation exercises now pair with hands-on treatment because the results show quicker healing and better long-term outcomes.
The orthotics are the signature. Frustrated by how often an unstable pelvis traced back to unstable feet, and by the price of podiatry orthotics, Colin learned to fabricate and modify orthotics himself. His patients get professional-grade devices at a workable cost, fitted by the person managing the rest of their care.
